Lake City Parks Get Extended Hours for Summer Recreation
Lake City, FL – In a move that will delight fishing enthusiasts and outdoor lovers, the Lake City Council has approved extended hours for Campbell park at Lake Montgomery, ensuring residents can enjoy longer days at the waterfront during daylight saving time.
The new ordinance, which passed unanimously, adds three additional months of extended hours to accommodate the longer daylight periods. This thoughtful adjustment means visitors can take full advantage of the fishing pier and lake amenities when the sun stays out later.
“This will help ensure the continued safety and security of our visitors while preserving the park and lake for generations to come,” noted George Hudson, a local resident who has been instrumental in advocating for the park improvements.
The designated opening and closing times will provide clarity for park visitors and help maintain the pristine condition of this treasured community resource. The Council’s decision reflects its commitment to striking a balance between public access and the responsible stewardship of Lake City’s natural attractions.
